The past few days !

In the past week I have been tested with some of the strange things that life has to offer... I'm proud to say " Nice Try" life you need to try a little harder then that.... I would like to thank Katie for being the best mother and wife this man could ever dream of. We make a great team !!!

Mila has been enjoying playing a little each day on her mat and today she played with Emma who is 7 months.  Look at how well she sits up!  It's hard to believe in 5-6 months Mila will be doing the same thing! :)

Our Family Thanksgiving !

After a bit of coaxing I got James to try the mobs wrap and guess what....he LOVED it.  I am not sure who liked it more Mila or James.

Mila has been a bit stuffy so we broke out the humidifier.  Akio and his friend Corbin seemed to enjoy playing in the mist, when they were not playing computer games!

We enjoyed our turkey (which was named "Fred" by Akio).  In years past our turkeys have been named Bob, Bob Jr., Frank and Frank Jr.

Robert said it had been a long time since he had held a baby, but he did a great job holding baby Mila!

Take a look at our baby bike that our friend's Amy and Brant brought over.  Amy is an art teacher and super creative!!

Happy Thanksgiving !!!

......To gather in unity – It is refreshing and invigorating when people come together, in celebration of a common purpose..... Family !

We had a wonderful time in Colorado Springs with James' family. We enjoyed some turkey, stuffing and pie, but most of all we enjoyed the company!

Here is Aunt Nancy enjoying Mila.

Uncle Corey enjoying his new Macbook

Uncle Brian had the honors of cutting the Boston Turkey this year !!! He has been hired for next year also !

Socks and Moby !!!

We have figured out that socks work as great baby gloves!  So what do you think will it be be on the runways for fashion week?

My friend Calley and her 6 month old Julian over for a visit.  Calley and I have known each other since we were babies!  Fun fact: Calley was adopted from Korea too!

I am sooo excited about the moby wrap because its comfortable, easier to put on then I thought, Mila loves it and my hands are free!  I will admit it was very intimidating at first because all it is is a super long piece of fabric, but thanks to Kristen I can now do it!

Mila has been staying up for longer periods of time and has started to really enjoy her play mat.  It is fun because she has been hitting the toys, but we can't tell  if she is actually meaning to do it or not.

Babysitting and Boogers

Today I babysat Carter for a few hours which was fun. They both just slept! Happy as clams! It is hard to believe they are only 17 days apart!

"Hey do I have any boogers?" This was from the other day and I thought it was hilarious. Both my brother and I can flare our nostrils, but not Akio or James...I guess Mila is on team flare! We will just have to wait to see if she can do it on command.

You can't see me!

"Look I'm hiding!"  Today we spent the day with Brittany, going to lunch and stopping by whole foods to get some vitamin D.  Mila sometimes likes her hands and other times the bother her.  She definitely enjoys a good swaddle!!  We all think she looks like a baby burrito.  What do you think?

Baby Carter and Mila Hanging out !

Today we hung out with baby Carter and his mom Holly.  He is just 17 days older than Mila.  It is hard to tell from the photo, but Carter outweighs Mila by about 3 lbs!  He is another adorable half Korean baby! (Holly and I were both adopted from Korea, a few years apart however).

We then spent time with Grandma Teri and look at the baby blanket she knit!  It is beautiful and undoubtably will be a favorite as Mila gets older.

I never knew I could love so much

I never knew I could love so much,
until the day I felt your touch.

I softly kissed your tiny cheek,
and from under your lashes I saw you peek.

Your beautiful eyes so small and blue,
my sweet little baby just brand new.

I cannot wait to watch you grow,
from your little head to your tiny toes.

My daughter my love, my little joy,
my little angel, my baby doll toy.

I promise to love you with all my heart,
I'm here for you from the very start.

I'll comfort you when you cry,
I'll answer true when you ask me, Why?

While you grow be sweet and kind,
and show all others how much you shine.

Mila's First Halloween !

Today Mila turned 10 days old and this was a special and emotional day for me.  I realized that Mila is the exact age I was when my mom game me up for adoption.  This made me feel very grateful to be in a place in my life where that is never a thought that I would have to have.  I can only imagine how hard and sad it was for my mom 29 years ago.  I just love Mila so much and know it must have been heart wrenching for my mother to give me up.

Happy Halloween Everyone!  This morning we went to go check Mila's Bilirubin and her number has gone up slightly so we will be back on Friday for one more check.  We then had a nice lunch with Grandma Teri!  Next on the agenda was to get ready for trick or treaters!  Mila is still pretty little so her newborn Halloween outfit was still HUGE on her!  After the small wave of trick or treaters James laid Mila in all our left over candy!!

The last Few Days !

Got Snow? We did ......

Mila's first snow....

Holding on to my pinky was probably one of the most adorable things ever!

We made a pot roast, finished all the laundry...

cleaned out the front closet (I did not have as much time to "nest" before she came so we had to do it after!) Seemed like a successful day to me!!

Well it has been an eventful weekend starting when we found out Mila's bilirubin was still going up so they decided to treat hear with the biliblanket.  It came Friday night at 9:00 and she has had it on pretty much every minute since then!  Let me explain this contraption.  It looks like a heating pad hooked to a box.  It lights up like a tanning bed and helps get rid of the bilirubin, which is making her jaundice. She doesn't seem to mind it as much as James and I do!  Until her numbers go down she will continue to look like a glow worm in Avitar ready for deep space nine.

On a more exciting note she has gained 4 oz in 2 days.  She is 6lb and 1oz which means she is almost back at her birth weight!

On Saturday Mila was 1 week old!  We took the biliblanket off so we could snap a quick photo!

Here are all the photos from our days......

Joy

1joy

 noun \ˈjȯi\

: a source or cause of delight

This is truly what Mila has given our family.

Today we had another doctors visit to check the levels bilirubin, which they were keeping a eye on. The test came back a little high so we have to take her back friday for another test. This is pretty much normal.

When leaving the doctors office Justin Bieber was on the radio and this is what Mila had to say about him... =)

Auntie Brittany spent the day hanging out with us!

Mila has been staying up longer during feedings and we are experiencing more and more of her personality coming out and love every second of it.

We would like to thank everyone that has been following this blog, The amount of people subscribed to the blog is amazing and we thank you all !
